About the Valley Line
The Valley Line Southeast opened on 4 November 2023 and is a completely different kind of railway: Edmonton’s first low-floor, street-running LRT, using Bombardier Flexity Freedom trams that glide along the roadway rather than a segregated track. It runs from Mill Woods in the southeast to 102 Street downtown, and because its trams are a different technology it does not share any track with the Capital or Metro lines.
The ride is a highlight in itself. The line crosses the North Saskatchewan River on the new Tawatinâ Bridge — tawatinâ is Cree for “valley” — whose underside carries around 500 art panels by Métis artist David Garneau. Davies is the line’s only elevated station and its main park-and-ride. To reach the Capital or Metro lines you make a short walk at Churchill, between the surface Valley Line stop and the underground station across the plaza.
The Valley Line has 12 stations over about 12 km and takes roughly 32 minutes end to end. Every one of its stations is step-free and it connects to the rest of the network by a short walk at Churchill.

Questions about the Valley Line
12 stations, running Mill Woods to 102 Street. End to end it takes about 32 minutes.
On weekdays the first trains leave around 5:00 am and the last around 1:37 am, varying by station — the further along the line, the later the last train passes. There is no overnight service; after the LRT closes, ETS OWL night buses run until about 3 am. First and last train at every station.
$3.00, the same flat fare as every other Edmonton LRT line and the same however far you travel — there are no zones. One fare includes 90 minutes of transfers to other lines and buses at no extra cost.
The Valley Line is a separate system, so the only connection is a short walk at Churchill — about four minutes on foot across the plaza between the surface Valley Line stop and the underground Churchill Station used by the Capital and Metro lines. You tap again unless you are still inside your 90-minute transfer window, in which case there is nothing more to pay.
